Who could the Chicago Bulls start looking into as the best 2020 free agents to target for what will be a pivotal offseason?
A two-game winning streak that really started to build up hope for the Chicago Bulls was pretty much dashed completely in a rough 100-98 home loss at the United Center to potentially the worst team in the NBA, on Dec. 6, against the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls moved to a record of 8-15 after that embarrassing home loss to the Warriors.
However, the focus is starting to shift to the long-term goals that the Bulls front office has in mind for the rest of the season. The Bulls aren’t all that far out of the playoff picture in a weak Eastern Conference, but they won’t get very far in the postseason either.
If the Bulls can manage to get back on the right track under head coach Jim Boylen soon, then the rest of the season might not be all that bad. But if the Bulls conclude that blowing it all up is the best way to go again, it could be the end of the John Paxson and Gar Forman-era as we know it.
But that is looking pretty far out. If the Bulls are going to keep GarPax around heading into the offseason, then there needs to be a plan formulated for where this franchise is headed in free agency.
There’s a couple of notable free agents the Bulls also have to make decisions on before the offseason. Point guard Kris Dunn and shooting guard Denzel Valentine are restricted free agents, and small forward Otto Porter Jr. has a player option he’ll have to decide on.
Here’s a look into the three early emerging 2020 NBA free agency targets that the Chicago Bulls should be looking into at this point of the regular season.
