Is Fashion Week overrated?

Fashion Week 2019 ended recently, and this season was definitely one for the books. But even though Fashion Week showcases the upcoming designs of the world's biggest designers, brings out tons of A-list celebrities, and breaks barriers in the world of fashion, some still feel the event is excessive. Fashion Week kicks off each fall, but critics argue its time is passed. Do you think Fashion Week is overrated?

PERSPECTIVES

Fashion Week matters because it helps editors identify and adjust to the trends for the upcoming seasons. Teen Vogue gave us a rundown on why Fashion Week matters.

Well, despite the parties and street style spectacles, Fashion Week is for work--traditionally meaning store buyers come to see the upcoming season's offerings and put in orders while fashion magazine editors use it to forecast trends and see what looks and pieces they want to feature in their publications. It helps to spark ideas for editorials and fashion features for the next six months!
