Ivanka Trump's eponymous fashion brand finally shuts website

‘Thank you’ message left on webpage of company after daughter of US President Donald Trump announced closure in July

By Business Insider

Ivanka Trump’s now-defunct eponymous fashion brand has finally shut down its website.

Since Thursday morning, the website of the fashion brand of the US President Donald Trump’s daughter has shown only a message thanking shoppers and supporters.

“It has been an honour to build this incredible community of women and we are very proud of the content and product we delivered,” the message reads.

“Most importantly, we cultivated amazing partnerships and friendships during the life of the brand.”

Trump’s fashion brand announced in late July that it would be shutting down.

Clothing, shoes and accessories from the brand will continue to be produced and sold by the company's licensing partners, a representative for the brand said at the time.

Message on Ivanka Trump fashion brand’s website

“After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington,” Ivanka Trump said at the time.

“So making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.”

The website remained unchanged in the weeks following the announcement.

A week after the business announced it would close, the Ivanka Trump store in Trump Tower – the brand’s only physical store – was closed and the space was transformed into a shop selling Trump-branded merchandise.

Before announcing the closure of the business, Trump was said to have grown frustrated with the self-imposed ethics restrictions on her fashion brand, such as an inability to strike new foreign deals, and felt that they stunted its growth.

Stores such as Nordstrom and Hudson’s Bay dropped her brand since her father took office in 2017.
