More than 300 guests, bundled in cozy coats and layers, filled the UnitedHealthcare Foundation Gathering Barn at Hope Farms for Recipe For Success Foundation's recent inaugural Fashion in the Fields presented by Neiman Marcus.
The event, which featured a runway show and hosted by KPRC's Courtney Zavala, raised more than $200,000 for the foundation's effort to combat childhood obesity.
Hope Farms, which opened in 2017, is a 7-acre project located at 10401 Scott at Airport in a predominately African American community. The area is one of the city's food deserts, in which it is difficult to buy affordable or quality fresh food.

At the Fashion in the Fields event, Recipe for Success Founder and CEO Gracie Cavnar and husband Bob Cavnar awarded Chef Kevin Naderi of Roost with the Chef of the Year award in honor of his support for the organization.
Guests dined on a lavish brunch including buttermilk fried chicken, creole crawfish and white cheddar grits, zucchini and sweet pepper frittatas, roasted and grilled farm vegetables, four-bean salad and an array of fresh baked biscuits and muffins.
