Shailene Woodley’s Paris Fashion Week Diary - Vogue

The magic of Paris fashion week can’t be understated, and when you’re seated front row at one of the week’s biggest shows, the thrills don’t stop. When Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley decided to head to the City of Lights to see Olivier Rousteing’s tough-girl chic Balmain collection, she especially knew she was in for a treat. “When I wake up each day, Balmain style is what I think I look like,” shared Woodley post-show. “Then I look down and remember I’m in sweats.”

Woodley might keep things casual on her days off, but Paris offered the opportunity to live out her fashion dreams. Joined by stylist Micaela Erlanger, makeup artist, Kelsey Deenihan and hair stylist, Ben Talbot she had fun taking Rousteing’s signature glamour onto the streets. Heading into Espace Champerret—where Rousteing’s models, dubbed the “Balmain Army,” walked in his latest Fall 2019 designs—the actress chose to wear the designer’s sultry take on acid wash denim. For Woodley, who praised Rousteing for his integrity, creativity and dance skills, her 48 hours in the world of Balmain was an experience she’ll never forget. “If you only knew how truly special this man is, you’d know how lucky I felt to be beside him, wearing his genius,” she said.
