Fashion mogul Serge Azria has said goodbye to his 1930s mansion in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to public records.
Mr. Azria, the fashion designer behind Joie, Equipment and Current/Elliot, and his wife, Florence Azria, sold the grand French country-style house designed by famed architect Paul R. Williams for $24 million at the tail end of January, according to listing records.

The 12,000-square-foot mansion boasts seven bedrooms and an Old Hollywood pedigree. Williams, a pioneering African-American architect whose stunning revival architecture and versatility made him a favorite among Los Angeles elite in the early and mid-20th century, completed the house in 1937.
Among its most notable owners was early Hollywood actress Jane Wyatt, best known for her leading role in sitcom “Father Knows Best” and as the mother of Spock on “Star Trek.” She owned the house for decades, property records show, until her death in 2006 at the age of 96.
The home then sold to talent manager-turned-developer Sandy Gallin, who with architect Scott Mitchell carried out a major modernization, including the addition of a waterfall patio, a climate-controlled wine room and dramatic 110-foot swimming pool, according to the former listing with luxury broker Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency. Mr. Rappaport couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Behind its white-painted period facade, the remodeled house includes darkly stained hardwood floors, decorative exposed ceiling beams and pale wood paneling. Despite the developer overhaul—which reportedly included increasing the home’s footprint by about one-third—it retained some original details, including a grand winding staircase at the entryway, images of the home show.
The Azrias purchased the home from Mr. Gallin through a trust in 2011 for $21 million, according to property records.

The Bel Air mansion was one of three luxury properties the Azrias have shopped around in recent years. They sold a penthouse in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood a year ago for $15 million, public records show. He was also reportedly selling a more modest Los Angeles house in the community of Brentwood last year for nearly $3.4 million.
Mr. Azria is the CEO and creative director at parent company The Collected Group Co. and is the older brother of late fashion designer Max Azria, who founded BCBG. He could not immediately be reached for comment.
