Some fashion insiders at Paris Fashion Week found themselves stranded in the City of Light when they tried to return to New York last week, only to learn that their airline had gone out of business.
Budget carrier Primera Air went bankrupt, announcing to passengers without warning that all of its flights “have been suspended,” and “on this sad day we are saying goodbye to all of you.”
The Post reported last year of the airline, “Are $99 Flights to Europe Too Good to Be True?”
An NYC fashionista told Page Six Friday: “I am such a snob, I am a loyal American flier — executive platinum and a million-miler for life. But when I went to book, these crazy cheap tickets popped up. They were so cheap, I thought, ‘I’m just going to take a chance and rough it.'”
But when she was headed home with her assistant, “We were told the airline was bankrupt and we were stranded at the airport.”
Primera’s contact numbers and e-mails also stopped working.
The fashion insider added, “I was bringing back our full collection,” and was going to miss appointments to show it in New York. But last-minute tickets on other airlines were $2,000-a-pop.
Norwegian Airlines saved the day by offering flights for half price.
